1623317_10152512342863008_5751802245765329187_nSo it almost looks like I took the entire summer vacation and a couple extra months before getting back to my spotlights.
Well we all know what happened.
First Trimester of the second baby.
So there were a few things that fell off the band wagon.
But we’re back and I really have to give my friend Nick Haubner a huge shout out for helping me refocus during this trying time.

So earlier this year I was spotlighting leaders who have helped me through various challenges in my business.
You can check the archives of some of the greats! We’re talking Chefs, multi-six figure earners, network marketing trainers and the list goes on!
Even part-timers who are making more money than some full-timers.
But today we’re not here to talk about them.
We’re here today to talk about Nick Haubner.
And you’re probably wondering what’s the big deal with Nick Haubner?
Well everyone is known for something right?
And Nick is one of those guys who’s just known to be good on camera.

I’ve never told him this but he should go into show business.

He’s a natural on the camera and very concise.

I think that’s what I like about his video style. Maybe it’s the engineer in me.

Short and to the point and full of energy. But not a fake kind of energy.

Rarely would his videos go over 3 to 4 minutes unless he’s doing an in depth training via video.

His training is the very same. And because of this training he’s managed to pick up quite a following.

Now normally people “look up” to older more experienced people in the business.

But if it’s one thing this business has taught me is that experience comes with no age.

Finding Your Passion

When I first heard Nick’s story I wanted to shoot myself! …… In the foot.

Because I couldn’t believe someone so young would take such a chance, and the reality is I was practically in the same position as him quite a number of years ago.

His story isn’t like many others.
He wasn’t struggling to pay bills, his house wasn’t in foreclosure and all that jazz.
He just wanted a different life.

One day he was just sitting in the lab at work and realized that if he did nothing right now, right this moment he’d be right where he was 10 years from now.

He’d probably have all the “things” he wanted but he’d still not be able to enjoy them because he’d have to be right there at his job.

What happened to him or maybe 5 years ago happened to me 18 months ago.

I realized I couldn’t stay in the job I had if I wanted to be a full-time mom, be able to travel when I wanted, where I wanted and to be able to enjoy the “things” I would gain from the hard work – job or otherwise.

The biggest thing that I learned from Nick in the last few months other than just getting in front of the camera, is that you have to really find your passion.

Find what you love to do, find what you want to known for, find what you want to be your legacy for life.

What will your children talk about,
your grandchildren,
your siblings?

What will the world say about Hilary De Freitas when she’s gone?

It was a hard enough question to think about and yet so easy.

Because the answer was clear as day because I’d be living it, not successfully, but I was living it.

I want people to know that I was the best Work from home Mother there was! And I was the BEST mother to my children.

I want to show other mothers how to do just what I’m doing.

And that’s how the renewed vision started.

Pushing me beyond my limits

Some of you may know that I hated video when I first started an online business.

My hair needed to be done, make up in the right place, and every single thing had to be perfect for me to get in front of the camera.

Well I started following Nick’s advice through a course of his called Video Apprentice.
It’s the first online course that I’ve completed.

And when I say completed – there were simple yet mind blowing challenges that needed to be accomplished in 30 days.

Yup there was a challenge. And I completed the challenge!

And trust me when I say it was a challenge.

You can watch my first and final video right here to see.

But if you watch carefully the final video you’d notice something.

I was on the beach, in a swim suit, on vacation with my brother, who actually shot the video for me.

I got over every fear I had about doing video.

And since then I’ve been churning out videos the same way I churned out blogs last year.

It’s amazing how a little push in the right direction can really help you.

So why is Nick this month’s spotlight ?

Because I want to tell him thanks!
“Thanks Dude!”
