A Few Things Changed on Facebook

FYI – This is only relevant in the month of June and in the year 2015.
Yes and a few things changed on Facebook.
Kinna cool, but as you know Facebook is a business.
And you’re running your business on Facebook so pay close attention.

Pay attention to Your Home Screen

Now I know when you go on Facebook after you’ve posted your Ads, or you’ve done your marketing for your business you head over to your news feed.
It’s that time where you find out what’s going on with people.
It’s time to catch up.
Well for my fellow business owners Facebook is no longer your “play ground”.
Facebook has to be the place where you research and understand what’s happening with Facebook.
If you make Facebook marketing your business like I have you will spot the changes as soon as you log in.

If you’re just messing around then you won’t.
Watch this short video to learn what I mean then continue reading.
[video_player type=”embed” width=”560″ height=”315″ align=”center” margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”20″ border_color=”#1850dc”]PGlmcmFtZSB3aWR0aD0iNTYwIiBoZWlnaHQ9IjMxNSIgc3JjPSJodHRwczovL3d3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbS9lbWJlZC9BMC0xVThQZ1IwND9yZWw9MCZhbXA7Y29udHJvbHM9MCZhbXA7c2hvd2luZm89MCIgZnJhbWVib3JkZXI9IjAiIGFsbG93ZnVsbHNjcmVlbj0iIj48L2lmcmFtZT4=[/video_player]
Great!
So you now know that Facebook is almost limiting what you’re able to do with your Fan Page.
As I said in the video, Facebook is a social network and their really looking for businesses to support them in that effort.
So now that Facebook has limited what Fan Pages can do you have to start being creative.
Actually it’s not being creative – it’s what you should do when setting up your Facebook Profile.
The same way you will add the company you worked for, your Fan Page is now your company.
So what you should do is have your Fan Page on your Facebook Profile.
That way as you use Facebook as yourself people will go to your personal page and notice where you “work”.

Fewer Ads in your Facebook News feed

In case you haven’t noticed, there are few ads in your news feed.
What does that mean for your business.
Well put simply – Advertising is going to get a little more expensive if you don’t watch what you’re doing.
You need to stay focused on your Advertising on Facebook and MONITOR everything!
[video_player type=”youtube” youtube_hide_controls=”Y” youtube_remove_logo=”Y” youtube_show_title_bar=”Y” width=”560″ height=”315″ align=”center” margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”20″]aHR0cDovL3lvdXR1LmJlL2FlZk45NDdUcmZZ[/video_player]
So as you saw, Ads need to look like they belong in the news feed.
They also need to be very targetted so that they will show up in a news feed, else you’ll be paying quite a hefty fee to Facebook and not getting any results.
More on Advertising in the coming days!
I know you had a lot of videos to watch today, so until next time!

Have a good one.

Had to add this comment … One strategy I use to help get more eyes on my Fan page is by sharing the Fan Page post to my Time line. BUT … Not just any ole public time line. I use the “Who Should See This” Option when I share and make it available only to people on my “marketing list” of friends.
I use to have a video on this. Will have to go see if I can find it for anybody needing more info!
Thanks Again Hillary for Keeping up on all the Facebook changes and info!!!

That is a killer cool strategy Jeff. I haven’t been maximizing the use of the lists that you can create on Facebook. I will definitely start making use of that.
