Social media is here to stay. Let’s face it, if you’re not on social media, you’re probably living under a rock.
Building a business on Facebook is not always easy. You have to put a lot effort into it.

Even if you do so, and something still isn’t working you’ve got to think, maybe I’m  making one of these mistakes on my Facebook Ad

With Facebook Marketing the environment changes at the speed of light.

Long story short, if Facebook is the social media of your choice to build your business, without a doubt, you always have to focus on these three things:

Brand Yourself

Remember when Facebook was all about the beautiful pictures and well-shot poses? Nobody cares about that anymore! Don’t fool yourself.

Everybody today wants to see the real you, they want to see that you are putting yourself out there and building a relationship.

So, before you even consider spending a dime on Facebook Advertising, invest, your dollars and your time in branding yourself.

Build a community

You know the formula: Advertise! Advertise! Advertise! Well, forget about it! Nobody is coming to your Facebook fan page to be sold.
People come to your page to engage and to be educated on what you’re sharing. In a nutshell get the information, and ask all the questions they want to know about you and your business.

And you are there to give the right answers to these questions. You are there to build a community around your page.

This is an entirely different concept to a couple of years ago.
When I first started my Facebook Marketing training, things were pretty much straightforward.

The only thing you needed to do was find your target audience  and get the images that line up with the message of your business. Exactly like in traditional marketing.

Now-a-days, you HAVE TO build relationships.

Unlike advertising on television which does not give an opportunity for a business to really build a relationship with their potential customers, on social media you can. People can’t comment back, hit a like or a heart button, nor can they can subscribe to your page or a channel from a TV ad
On the contrary, Facebook is all about building communities and relationships. And if you are doing these things, Facebook will reward you by giving you a “discount”on their advertising.

Be consistent

The last thing I want to share about building your business on Facebook is the importance of being consistent.
Remember the reason people are on Facebook is for entertainment and education.
Therefore it goes without saying that your role on Facebook is to be a CONSISTENT provider of information and entertainment.

See the connection between these two? Consistency is the key to advertising! Yes, you heard me right.

Facebook can and will penalize you if you don’t create content consistently.

Spending your money on a Facebook ad is not enough. Don’t think that Facebook doesn’t want your money. It does.

But your subscribers are more valuable. Without them, Facebook can’t take money from you.

You shouldn’t be afraid of a rapidly changing Facebook environment. It can be a piece of cake if you know how to handle it.

Yet, some things will never change. So, the lesson for today: be yourself, build your community and stay consistent and you’ll soon get the hang of Facebook Marketing.
